Lesson
Angular Kinetics - Sports Applications for Angular Impulse - continued
During the TENNIS SERVE, even though the server may not become airborne
(and the movement thus subject to conservation of angular momentum), the
ANGULAR MOMENTUM generated is important.
ANGULAR MOMENTUM is produced by the rotation of the trunk, arms and
legs, along with a transfer of angular momentum from the extending lower
extremity and rotating trunk to the racquet arm and eventually to the racquet
(Similar to golf movements).
