Description of Motion | In the normal standing position the foot makes an angle of 90º with the leg – neutral position of joint. In dorsiflexion the foot is drawn up towards the leg. RoM approximately 30º | In plantarflexion the foot moves away from the leg and from its neutral position in the opposite direction from dorsiflexion. RoM approximately 50º | Takes place along long axis of foot, sole of foot turns to face the midline | Takes place along long axis of foot, sole of foot turns to face away from the midline |
